About the Health Information Technology Degree
Description
Using the latest technology, health information technicians collect, analyze and report healthcare data. This requires knowledge of diseases, treatments, regulatory issues, computer systems and organizational skills.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics cites health information technology as a fast-growing occupational area.
You can earn the Healthcare Customer Service certificate and Medical Coding Specialist technical diploma on the way to completing this degree.

This program admits students through a petition selection process.

Accreditation
The Health Information Management accreditor of Milwaukee Area Technical College is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for associate degrees in Health Information Management has been reaffirmed through 2027-2028.
