About the Biomedical Electronics Technology Degree
Description
Through coursework and lab work focused on electrical safety, medical gas safety and the clinical application of electronics and electromechanical devices, you will prepare for a technical career in the healthcare field.
Jobs are competitive in the Milwaukee area. Employment opportunities include hospitals, equipment manufacturers and independent service organizations.
You can earn the Electronics Technician Fundamentals technical diploma on the way to completing this degree.
Additional program details: Biomedical electronic equipment, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, anesthesia machines and X-ray equipment, are some of the devices covered. Computer network skills are also desired.
An internship for eight hours per day, one day a week, for two semesters provides hands-on experience and a potential reference for employment upon graduation. Normal vision; good manual dexterity; and the ability to push, pull or lift 50 pounds are required. Contact the program instructor/advisor for details at stanclie@matc.edu.
