Emergency Medical Services
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are vital to keep communities safe and healthy. EMS personnel are usually the first healthcare practitioners at the scene of an accident or emergency.
MATC offers high-quality training for students who want to work as Emergency Medical Technicians, Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics.
Both Non-sponsored and Sponsored Students can register for these programs.
Non-sponsored student: Currently not affiliated/employed with a fire department or accredited agency. Students will be required to pay their own tuition, textbook fees and National Registry written and practical examination fees.
Sponsored student: Affiliated or employed by a fire department or accredited agency. Tuition, fees, textbooks, supplies and National Registry written and practical examination fees are billed to the sponsoring agency.
Gain practical experience in potentially life-saving procedures such as patient assessment, wound care, and basic life support to use in real-world emergency situations.

Learn advanced procedures like cardiac life support and pediatric life support emergency pharmacological interventions advanced airway management utilized in life-threatening situations.
Paramedic Information
The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) has awarded initial accreditation to the Emergency Medical Services - Paramedic Technician Program at Milwaukee Area Technical College, Milwaukee, WI.
The CoAEMSP Board of Directors recognizes the program's substantial compliance with the nationally established accreditation standards.
