General Education

A Welcome Message From the Dean

sadique-isahaku-deanThe General Education Academic & Career Pathway (GenEd ACP) at MATC serves the largest number of students and is the most diverse academic pathway, providing a solid foundation for all academic and career pursuits. Through a dynamic combination of courses in the liberal arts and sciences, GenEd ACP fosters educational excellence, critical inquiry, and interdisciplinary learning.

Our students are empowered to explore a wide range of subjects across the arts & humanities, natural sciences, quantitative reasoning and social sciences, enabling them to shape personalized learning experiences that align with their unique academic and career aspirations. The courses within the GenEd ACP are designed to cultivate socially aware, critically thinking global citizens, dedicated to fostering positive change in their communities and beyond.

To further support our students, we intentionally and ethically integrate the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in our educational framework. AI tools are leveraged to enhance learning outcomes, provide personalized academic support, and ensure equitable access to resources. By employing AI responsibly, we are able to offer tailored solutions that meet the diverse needs of our students while maintaining a strong commitment to privacy and ethical standards.

Together, these elements make the GenEd ACP an essential gateway to both academic achievement and career success.

Thank you,
Sadique Isahaku, Ph.D.
